
“Vitebsk State Industrial Forestry Association” is a part of Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Belarus. The chief task of the association is to carry out all the necessary events aimed at reproduction, protection, conservation and inexhaustible exploitation of the forests. The association includes 17 regional forestry enterprises that consist of 133 forest divisions and 428 forestry-based parts. The total area of the forest fund is 76,7%.

The forest reserves are within the jurisdiction of “Vitebsk State Industrial Forestry Association” and occupy an area of 1421,8 ths ha, including the forested area of 1215,9 ths ha. The forests of group I take 49,1%.
The total timber volume is 231,6 million m3, including 122,5 ths m3 of softwood.
The average forested stand is 190 m3 per 1 ha, ripe and overripe stand is 236 m3.
The average volume of increment per 1 ha on the forested area is 3,8 m3.
The average age of stand is 50 years.
